The IDSP hosted a panel session at OpenUK’s State of Open Conference 2024  on ‘Leveraging Privately Sourced Datasets’. Josh D’Addario from the Open Data Institute moderated the session with Yiu-Shing Pang, UK Power Networks; Melissa Tallack, Northumbrian Water; and Sonia Cooper, Microsoft on the panel. Reflecting on their first year of partnership, the panel revisited key projects, including the open data challenge “Data for Local Environments”, as well as their engagement with academia at the U.S. Research Data Summit. The panel shared their experience and lessons learned from working with data providers and data users across the different sectors and reflected on the importance of overcoming data-sharing barriers.
